Formula Renault 3.5 League Protests

Jerez – Race 5 incidents

Championship and race results updated after incidents

Jeffrey Camilleri

Result – Drive-through for causing a collision (14s added to race time)

Jeffrey loses the rear of his car mid corner, and without being aware of other drivers around him, tries to continue the race causing a collision with John Shea. Jeffrey should have looked around before moving his car to ensure it’s safe to rejoin.

Noel Attard

Result – 10s stop-go penalty for causing a collision (26s added to race time)

After losing the rear of his car on the main straight, Noel reverses onto the track posing terrible danger to other drivers and causing a collision with John Shea. This is a big no-no, you never reverse to the track unless you’re 100% sure there’s nobody around.

Daniel Sollo

Result – Drive-through for causing a collision (14s added to race time)

Daniel launches his car into T9 apexing early and carrying too much speed to make the corner (see trajectory below) and collides with Antonis, who give plenty of racing room for Daniel.

Melbourne – Race 2

David Bailey

ResultDrive-through for causing a collision (20s added to the race time)

On lap 2 David completely misses his braking point on turn 5, launching his car into the rear of the one in front, taking both into the gravel.

David finished the race 17.5s ahead of P11, so will lose one position.

Added note: David should awaited for the car he just crashed into to rejoin the track first.
